I expect Germany to be the favorite here and I will probably be on Uruguay for this game. They will get Suarez back as well as Fucile and maybe Logarno.

Frankly, nobody expects them to make it this far and they gave it their all against the Dutch. I think the Germans maybe a little deflated after the Spanish loss...they were fully expected to at least advance to the Final, if not to win it all, and rightly so but it wasn't meant to be.

It will be an entertaining game because both teams have nothing to lose at this point, really. I also lean towards the over...

over seems the way to go...thinking here is suarez is back too(would wait to hear on forlans' status)...klose to break ronaldos' record...it's a 3rd place game after all...why play a tight fundamental game when you can put a show on for the crowd....just some random thoughts on this game...really haven't put to much creedence into this game....

Uruguay +1 -155

The Germans were devastated after the final whistle, with captain Philipp Lahm breaking down in tears and Bastian Schweinsteiger crumbling to his knees. Not even a consoling pat on the back from Puyol helped.

This was the three-time champions' third straight trip to the World Cup semifinals. Yet just like in 2006, they are headed for the third-place game.

"Right now, I really don't feel like playing for third place," Lahm said. "The disappointment is very big. We had a lot as our goal and we didn't succeed."

Uruguay + 1 - 155
Total 2 1/2 over -140

I did not expect such a generous line for Uruguay.
I love getting a full goal with all of Uruguay's talent returning to the pitch.
Germany devastated with little interest in even playing the consolation match.

I'll be on

Why is Germany always considered the underdog? I don't think Uruguay has THAT many chances, but I'll wait for Paul's opinion :D

Incubus, nothing against you bro but all I have seen from you is either tailing or fading people.

Sometimes, you have to grow a spine and have some opinions. You may win or you may lose but that's irrelevant. The point is you have your own opinions and stick your neck out to defend 'em.

Best of luck bro, i hope you enjoy the game and the octopus' selection @)

:lolBIG: "Grow a spine?" :think2: Nothing against you either, bro, but your opinion of how I conduct my gambling activities really means diddly squat. Fade or tail, the only thing that matters is my account at THE GREEK! :dancefool

Bet against Paul the Octopus. He's got a perfect unblemished World Cup record. Don't believe me, look it up. Good luck! :toast:

Both Klose and Podolski are not starting. Uruguay has the usual lineup, including Forland and Suarez.

i hear uruguay recieves $10 million if they finish 3rd...quite an incentive to push forward an ever burgeoning youth movement in uruguayan futbol...many up and coming future stars on the under 20 team rite now....took the celeste yesterday at +365...the news that some of the german players have the fever is up for dispute...especially since philip lahm is one of them...he said 2 days ago he had no desire to even show up for a 3rd place game...other than some of the bench players i would think his sentiments definitely reflect the rest of the team....cheers

I think he may have been overwhelmed when interviewed. However, the Germans won't quit here because they are Germans and have their pride. They also have the talent to win here.

This game is pointless.

I remember when the Final 4 (NCAA basketball) used to have a 3rd place game until hardly anyone watched. I suppose since this is the WC that people watch their country. Plus, it's another match we can bet on. :)
